Eat, sleep and the Norwich streets

A food hall in Norwich’s iconic Royal Arcade; a publisher of carefully curated travel guides; a 5* seafront hotel launch in Bournemouth; and King Charles II’s former party palace in Hampshire are just some of the exciting new clients we’re working with in 2022. Not forgetting our regular roster of clients who continue to rally to new highs despite the increasingly challenging climate.

YALM

Housed in the iconic Royal Arcade, Yalm is a much-needed food hall for Norwich showcasing some the best independent chefs and kitchens from the region. Think casual dining but serious about its food. Typo-graphic developed a brand strategy, created a brand identity and defined a tone of voice that felt modern, familiar and sympathetic to the building’s history. Yalm is an old Norfolk dialect word meaning ‘to eat hungrily’, which is what we’ll be doing once Yalm opens this autumn! www.yalm.co.uk

THE NICI

Previously The Savoy, five-star hotel The Nici launched in Bournemouth in June 2022 following a £25 million refurbishment with Miami-inspired interiors. The brief was to move away from the old-world charm of The Savoy and establish the brand as a luxury destination resort with a playful edge. South Beach meets the south coast. Perched on Bournemouth’s West Cliff with spectacular sea views, landscaped gardens, outdoor pool and access down to miles of award-winning sandy beach, the ideal location and buzz around this new stylish seafront hotel has helped steer this ongoing project. www.thenici.com

COMPENDIA

Compendia publishes carefully curated travel guides. Passionate about supporting independent businesses, creators and makers, the trusted compendiums support and encourage a ‘buy local’ culture, helping readers to live and travel more sustainably. As Editor-in-Chief for the first edition of Compendia – Norwich & Norfolk Joanna Peios developed a house style for use in later editions and other cities. With over 250 independent businesses, creators and makers featuring in the guide, the challenge was ensuring every entry met strict editorial guidelines. As Lead Writer, Jo was also commissioned to write the directory, including several editorial features, area guides and worked with some of Norfolk’s most itinerant locals to create the popular Insider Guides. Work started on edition 01 during the pandemic where a theme of resilience emerged and evolved. Our hope now is that these brave business owners, who made it through a global pandemic, can weather the daunting economic challenges ahead. www.compendia.co.uk
